41: God wrote His law in stone.

And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. …”

Outside Eden – disconnected from God – mankind’s rebellion multiplied. God’s wrath poured forth in a flood, His mercy in the shape of an ark (Genesis 6-8).
When He reached out to reconnect with mankind through a single people, He summed up His moral law in ten commandments. Laws He not only spoke out loud but wrote in stone with His own hand.
Moses… went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand, tablets that were written on both sides… The tablets were the work of God…

Ten Commandments: four concerning right relationship with God, six on right relationship with others (Exodus 20). His Law summed up simply, written down, so His people might not forget.
Consider what place His law has in your life today. Could its place in your life be connected to the state of your relationship with Him? with others?
