44: God is worthy of your trust.
Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them…”
Exodus 3:7-8 ESV
God prefaced the giving of His law to His people by establishing Himself as the One with the utmost authority and as the One who cares most for His people. He knows our hearts, hears our cry, and does what’s best for us.
In establishing Himself as for His people, He establishes the basis for us to follow His way.
“’…Use honest scales and honest weights… I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt. Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the Lord.’”
