47: Denying God as God, the foremost sin.
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.
Psalm 14:1 ESV
In God’s sight, there is no such thing as a good person who rejects Him and His ways. This is the greatest offense against God and lies at the heart of the first commandment: you shall have no other gods.
When we deny God we find false validation for doing things our way and not His.
And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him…

Unbelievers (atheists) and those who credit something or someone else as their source of life (idolators) are not the only violators of the first command. Those who say they believe but neglect to live His Way for His glory are also guilty.
Consider your life today. Does it reflect the life of a true Believer? or a practical atheist?
