49: Do not form your own image of God.
“You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God…”

The second commandment of the Ten warns us to not make God something He is not.
What we can’t fully understand or comprehend, we try to make manageable. The problem is, when we succumb to this temptation, we make God small. We put our own image of God in His place.
“…For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
John 4:24 NLT
Why do you think the temptation to make God more manageable stirs up His jealousy?
