56: Because He IS God, be careful with your words.

Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.
Ecclesiastes 5:2 ESV
There’s one simple reason to be very careful with the way you speak about God: He is God.
To heed the third command – to not misuse God’s name – is to affirm your belief in God as the Most High, the One True God, the Judge of all the earth. Those who with rebellious intent profane His name will be held accountable.
For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads. … Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace, that they may know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are Most High over all the earth.
Psalm 83:2, 17-18 ESV
Do your words reflect your faith in God? do they place you among His people? or in the camp of His enemies? A sober consideration for today.
