65: God gives you authority to serve others.
Fathers, don’t exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master. Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ.

Worldly leaders throw their weight around, use authority to get things done their way! Not so for those who belong to Jesus. No matter whether you are the one in or under a place of authority, loving service is the way of influence for those who believe.
So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant… For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
