107 truths about God, the world, and you.
77: God wants you to tell the truth.

“…But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace. Don’t scheme against each other. Stop your love of telling lies that you swear are the truth. I hate all these things, says the Lord.”
Zechariah 8:16-17 NLT
Truth can be hard to hear and hard to speak, but it’s what God calls His people to do.

Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.
Psalm 15:1-3 NLT
The ninth command – Do not lie – is a call for God’s people to protect their relationship with Him by speaking truth.
Where or when have you found it hard to tell the truth? Consider today: What tempts you to lie?
