79: God calls you to guard your desires.

“You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.”
Exodus 20:17 NLT

In the last of the ten commandments written in stone, God says: Do not desire what belongs to someone else. We’re talking, don’t see other people’s possessions, status, or relationships as the treasure you’ve been looking for all your life.

Don’t make someone else’s life your heart’s desire. Don’t envy.

“A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven. …”
John 3:27 ESV

Why do you think God commands His people to NOT covet, desire, treasure, what belongs to someone else?
What does the need for this command say about God? the world? you?
