You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
James 4:2-3 NIV

No matter how God gives, it is not to stir up division, jealousy, or envy. He calls His people to support their neighbors right where they are, in joys and sorrows (Romans 12:15).

Each person’s life circumstances offer an opportunity to glorify God’s goodness and grace.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17 NIV

Learning to be content with what God gives you and your neighbors enables you to see His goodness and grace.

Today, ask Him to open your eyes to see His good purposes and experience the joy of His grace.
