107 truths about God, the world, and you.
91: Only faith in Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit enable religious practices to bless you.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13 ESV
The Greek word translated as “calls on” can mean taking on the identity of the one called on: to be named after someone.[1] Calling on the name of Jesus is agreeing with who He says He is and allowing Him to influence your life to make you more like Him.
Only by faith – deep down in your heart trust in Jesus’s work and teaching – do your words and actions open the door of your heart for God’s power and grace to enter.
It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us.
Romans 10:9 The Message
Today, consider your experience with religious practices. What is your attitude toward them? Do you focus on the outward acts? or is your participation based on faith in Christ?
Ask God to help you come to a correct understanding of religion.
