107 truths about God, the world, and you.
92: God establishes practices for you to align your life with His.

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup…”
Luke 22:19-20 ESV
Jesus established two sacraments – religious practices – for Believers to align their lives with His: Baptism and Communion.
The word sacrament, derived from Latin, was used by the ancient Romans for the soldiers’ act of promising loyalty to the military and the prince they represented.[1] Likewise, Jesus’s followers demonstrate allegiance to Him through these outward acts of faith, acknowledging the spiritual reality within.
“…Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” –Jesus
Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
Through the sacraments, we pledge our lives to Jesus.
Today, consider your baptism and the times you received Communion. Does your life reflect wholehearted loyalty to Him? Ask God to renew your faithfulness.
