107 truths about God, the world, and you.
96: In Communion you agree to receive His life.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. …”
Matthew 26:26-28 NIV
Bread and wine constitute the Lord’s Supper – Communion. Jesus used them to demonstrate the giving and receiving of His sacrificial grace.
In eating, Believers unite with Him in His love for God and others – even those who disregard Him. Like baptism, Believers take on His life and join His mission.
In a fellowship of faith, Communion encourages and empowers God’s people.
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 5:2 ESV
