107 truths about God, the world, and you.
104: By prayer, you acknowledge your daily need for God’s grace.

“Give us this day our daily bread…”
Matthew 6:11 ESV
The prayer Jesus teaches consists of six requests in two parts. The first three concern God and His place in our lives and the world. Then we bring our personal needs to Him.
Like Jesus when He lived on earth, we are wholly dependent on God the Father to supply our physical needs: food, shelter, clothing, breath, and community. Things we require for daily life in this world.
Over and over, we ask for Him to provide because the truth is we cannot supply anything for ourselves (Deuteronomy 8:17-18).
“…Give me enough food to live on, neither too much nor too little. If I’m too full, I might get independent, saying, ‘God? Who needs him?’ If I’m poor, I might steal and dishonor the name of my God.”
Proverbs 30:8-9 The Message
All He gives, He gives freely by grace. It is by faith we see our need for His provision and receive His blessing into eternity.
Consider your earthly needs. Do you pray for these daily?
What does Jesus’s teaching of day-to-day prayer reveal about you? the world? God?
