“…and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. …”
Matthew 6:12 NLT

Jesus teaches His disciples to ask His Father for forgiveness. It is not a prayer He modeled, but one He came to make possible.

For Jesus’s sake, Father God gives a hearty Yes to those who seek forgiveness in His Son’s name based on faith in His sacrifice.

Forgive us as we forgive others is not so much a condition for forgiveness but a spiritual reality. The more we see and grieve our sins, seek God’s pardon and experience His incredible grace, the more we desire to forgive others.

Freely you have received; freely give.
Matthew 10:8 NIV

In Jesus, ALL your sins – past, present, future – are forgiven. Seeing your daily sin and seeking the Father’s forgiveness keeps us in close relationship with Him and others.

How often do you see your sin and pray for forgiveness?
How well do you forgive others?

Today, consider the connection between the two. Ask God to reveal and forgive your sins in Jesus’s name. Make way for peace and freedom.
