82: You are a sinner.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1John 1:8 ESV
No one in this life, in this world, can live without sinning. We sin daily in thought, word, and deed.
Adam, the first one of us, our natural father, rebelled against God in the garden and broke every generation in the process with his failure to keep the one law given him. Even in Jesus, Believers fail daily to walk as He did. But that’s why He came.
The One with a different Father, the heavenly Father, came to do what we fail to do. Live a sinless life.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Romans 3:23-24 NLT
Today consider the numerous ways you fall short of God’s glorious righteousness in thought, word, deed. Don’t beat yourself up for your failures, instead open yourself up to the truth of who you are and who God is.
