95: Be baptized if you believe and receive the good news of Jesus.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off – for all whom the Lord our God will call.” …Those who accepted his message were baptized…
Acts 2:38-39, 41 NIV

Baptism is for anyone who believes and receives the gospel of Jesus with a heart to obey.

Faith and the Holy Spirit unite Believers with Christ to continue His mission on earth (1Corinthians 12:13). Trusting in Jesus’s death and resurrection makes your life His and His life yours.

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4 ESV

Consider the implications of baptism – dying to your life and taking on His.

If you have undergone baptism, what changes have you experienced?

Ask God what those changes reveal about Him? the world? you?

  1. I wrestled with the picture for this post… but it showed up in the first two categories I searched so I went with it…
I saw it afresh after publishing it… obedience is like that… we obey and THEN we understand!
What this particular picture conveys is: “Baptism setting up your life as a table for two.”
